Effective Load Frequency Control of Power System with Two-Degree Freedom Tilt-Integral-Derivative Based on Whale Optimization Algorithm

Nowadays, the operation and control of power systems are a big challenge. An essential part system (PS) is load frequency (LFC). Different secondary controllers implemented for problem. Hence, cascaded two-degree freedom tilt-integral-derivative controller having filter (2DOFTIDF) intended in this paper control. In order to determine efficiency 2DOFTIDF controller, well-known non-reheat thermal with/without governor dead band considered. A new whale optimization algorithm (WOA) used enhance suggested parameters. The predominance presented method exhibited by comparing consequences with different heuristic techniques tuned published recently. Further, simulation results two test cases indicate that enactments enhanced introducing also best suited presence nonlinearity. Finally, random fluctuation along noise changing parameters reliability controller. Compared WOA-tuned TIDF settling time ?F1, ?F2, ?PTie improved 45.45%, 56.77%, 20.26%, respectively, 40%, 48.27%, 20%, DE-tuned Experimental validation using hardware-in-the-loop real-time based on OPAL-RT has been carried out confirm viability proposed approach.
